Wrestling: India Win 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze In Wrestling at Day 8

• Deepak Punia wins Gold medal (86kg) after beating 2 time reigning CWG Champion Muhammad Inam of Pakistan 3-0 in Final.

• Sakshi Malik wins Gold medal (62kg) after pinning down reigning U23 World Champion Ana Godinez of Canada in Final. Its 1st CWG Gold medal for Sakshi (Earlier Silver: 2014 & Bronze in 2018).

• Wrestling: Bajrang Punia wins Gold medal (65kg) after beating Lachlan McNeil 9-2 in Final. Bajrang did it in style: Won 1st 2 bouts by pinning opponents & Semis bout 10-0. Its 2nd consecutive CWG Gold medal for Bajrang.

• Silver Medal for Anshu Malik, Anshu lost to 2 time reigning CWG Champion Odunayo Adekuoroye of Nigeria 4-7 in Final. Anshu tried her best but the tall Nigerian was much better today. Anshu had won her earlier 2 rounds within a minute. 

• Divya wins Bronze medal (68kg) after pinning down her opponent in Bronze medal bout.

Badminton:

• Aakarshi Kashyap eases into QF of Women's Singles with 21-2, 21-7 win over lowly ranked shuttler from Cyprus. Next Aakarshi will take on WR 26 Kirsty Gilmour on Ssaturday in QF.

• Top Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen sails into QF of Men's Singles with 21-9, 21-16 win over lowly ranked Australian shuttler.

• P.V Sindhu sails into QF of Women's Singles with 21-10, 21-9 win in 3rd round. Sindhu will take on WR 60 Goh Jin Wei in QF tomorrow.

• Satwiksairaj Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty sail into QF of Men's Doubles with 21-8, 21-7 win over Pakistani duo. QF scheduled for Saturday.

Hockey:

Women's Hockey: Braveheart Indian girls go down fighting to 3 time Olympic Champions Australia in shoot-out (Regulation score: 1-1). India will take on New Zealand on Sunday in Bronze medal match.

Table Tennis:

• Sreeja akula, coming from 1-3 down, beat world no 49 mo zhang of canada 4-3 eventually to advance into semis of women's singles. sreeja will take on wr 16 tianwei feng of singapore tomorow

• Sathiyan Gnanasekaran & Sharath Kamal cruise into Semis of Men's Doubles with commanding 3-0 win. Next Sathiyan & Sharath will take on WR 25 duo Quadri Aruna & Bode Abiodun tomorrow in Semifinal.

• Sharath Kamal & Sreeja Akula advance into Semis of Mixed Doubles with hard-fought 3-2 (11-9 in final game!) win over 2 time reigning CWG Silver medalists Liam Pitchford & Tin-Tin Ho. Semifinal scheduled for tomorrow.  

• World No. 6 pair Manika Batra & Sathiyan Gnanasekaran knocked OUT by Malaysian duo Javen Choong & Karen Lyne 2-3 in QF of Mixed Doubles. Earlier Manika had lost to Karen in QF of Mixed Team event few days back.

• Sharath Kamal & Sathiyan Gnanasekaran advance to QF of Men's Singles with 4-2 identical win over their respective lower ranked opponents. QFs scheduled for Saturday

Athletics:

• India have qualified for Final of Women 4x400m relay at World Athletics U20 Championships. 
The quartet of Summy, Priya, Rajitha, Rupal created New U20 National record clocking 3:34.18 (2nd in Heat & 4th overall). Final tomorrow night.

Lawn Bowls: 

• India advance into FINAL of Men's Fours after beating England 13-12 in Semis. India were trailing 2-6 earlier. India created history earlier this week by winning their 1st ever CWG medal (and that too Gold!) in Lawn Bowls.
