IPL 2021: CSK vs KKR Match 38 Report

Abu Dhabi, 26th Sep 2021: Match no. 38 of Indian Premier League (IPL) saw the Chennai Super King (CSK) beat the Kolkata Knight Riders by two wickets at Zayed Cricket Stadium.

KKR won the toss and, skipper Eoin Morgan elected to bat first. KKR lost the first wicket of Shubman Gill (9) in just ten runs. Dinesh Karthik and Nitish Rana added 41 runs for the sixth wicket. KKR posted a challenging total 171 runs for the six wickets in 20 Overs. Shardul Thakur (2/20) and Josh Hazlewood (2/40) were the main wickets taker for the CSK.

Chasing a target of 172 runs, CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis added 74 runs for the first wicket. Ravindra Jadeja smashed 22 runs in just eight balls with two fours and two maximums. CSK achieved the target after lost eight wickets in 20 over. Sunil Narine (3/41) and Varun Chakaravarthy (1/22) were the main wickets taker for the KKR.

 It is difficult. You have been playing Test cricket for five months and suddenly you have to come and play whiteball cricket. It was difficult. In the nets also I was working my batswing. So I was thinking whatever I have done in the nets I have to repeat in the match. – Ravindra Jadeja
