Abu Dhabi 25th SEP 2021: In Match 36 of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Delhi Capitals defended 154 runs target set by them in the first innings against the Rajasthan Royals and won the match by 33 runs.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and asked Rishabh Pant led Delhi Capitals to bat first. Delhi Capitals lost Shikhar Dhawan at the score of 18 and Prithvi Shaw the score of 21 Runs. Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant added 62 runs for the third wicket. Delhi Capitals could only score 154 for the 6 wickets in 20 Overs. Mustafizur Rahman 2/22, and Chetan Sakariya 2/33 were the main wickets taker for the Rajasthan Royals.

Chasing a target of 155 runs, Rajasthan Royals lost their opening pair of Liam Livingstone (6) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (6) in the first two overs itself. David Miller (7) also lost his wicket following a brilliant stumping from opposition skipper Rishabh Pant.

RR skipper Sanju Samson took time to settle with wickets tumbling from the other end. He notched up 70 runs in 53 balls with 8 fours and a single maximum. However, he couldn’t find any assistance from the middle order as RR could only manage 121 runs for the loss of six wickets in their quota of 20 overs.

South African speedster Anrich Nortje was yet again the top performer for the Capitals with 2/18 in his four overs. The rest of the bowlers snapped up a wicket each to their name as a target of just 155 seemed to be massive for the RR batters.
