IPL 2021: Mumbai Indians vs Punjab Kings Match 42 Report

Abu Dhabi, 28th Sep 2021: Match no. 42 of Indian Premier League (IPL) saw the Mumbai Indians beat the Punjab Kings by 6 wickets at Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and asked skipper KL Rahul led Punjab Kings to bat first. Punjab Kings could only score 135 runs for the nine wickets in 20 Overs. Aiden Markram notched up 42 runs in 29 balls with six fours. Kieron Pollard (2/8) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/24) were the main wicket-takers for the Mumbai Indians. Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar chipped in with one wicket each.

Chasing the target of 136 runs, Mumbai Indians lost their two back-to-back wickets of skipper Rohit Sharma (8) and Suryakumar Yadav (0) by the fourth overs at just 16 runs. Saurabh Tiwary scored 45 runs in 37 balls with Three fours and 2 maximums. Hardik Pandya smashed 40 runs in 30 balls with 4 fours and 2 power sixes. Mumbai Indians achieved the target after lost four wickets in 19 over. Ravi Bishnoi bagged 2 wickets in 4 overs.

Kieron Pollard was adjudged Player of the match for his brilliant performance. Pollard took 2 wickets and letter smashed 15 runs in just 7 balls.
