IPL 2021: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajastan Royals Match 40 Report

Dubai, 27th Sep 2021: Match no. 40 of Indian Premier League (IPL) saw the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beat the Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets at Dubai International Stadium.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and captain Sanju Samson elected to bat first. Rajasthan Royals lost their first wicket of Evin Lewis in the second over at 11 runs. Sanju Samson and Mahipal Lomror added 84 runs for the 4th wicket. Skipper Sanju Samson scored 82 runs in 57 balls with seven fours and three maximums. Rajasthan posted a challenging total of 164 in 20 overs for the loss of five wickets. Siddarth Kaul (2/36) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/28) were the main wicket-takers for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Chasing the target of 165 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad openers Wriddhiman Saha and Jason Roy added 57 runs for the first wicket. SRH scored 63 runs lost of a wicket in the powerplay. Jason Roy scored 60 runs in 42 balls with eight fours and a single maximum. Skipper Kane Williamson notched up 51 runs in 41 balls with Five fours and one maximum. SRH achieved the target after lost three wickets in 18.3 over.
