Women’s Freestyle 57kg (Repechage Round) – Anshu Malik loses to reigning Olympic silver medalist Valeria Koblova 1-5 in Repechage round (57kg) OUT of contention for medal.


Women’s Freestyle 53kg (1/8 Final) – Vinesh Phogat beats reigning Olympic Bronze medalist Sofia Mattsson to storm into QF (53kg).And Vinesh did it in style by winning 7-1.

Vinesh Phogat goes down to 2 time World Champion Vanesa Kaladzinskaya in QF (53kg). Vinesh was pinned down. Vinesh Bronze medal chances (via Repechage) eliminated as her QF victor Vanesa loses in Semis. From being a Gold medal contender, it would be a no medal show for Vinesh at Tokyo.
Men’s 20km walk Final – Sandeep Kumar finishes 23rd in Men’s 20km Race Walk clocking 1:25:07 (4:02 mins behind leader) Relatively slow paced race due to intense heat. Massimo Stano of Italy won Gold clocking 1:21:05.
Rahul Rohilla finished 47th clocking 1:32:06 while Irfan KolothumThodi clocked his SB time of 1:34:41 to finish 51st in the event.
