Archery Men’s Single 1/8 Eliminations: Atanu Das goes down fighting to London Olympic medalist Takaharu Furukawa 4-6 in Pre-QF. Earlier Atanu had got the better of London Olympic Gold medalist Oh Jin-hyek in Pre-QF. Thats END of Indian challenge in Archery.

Women’s Discus Throw Qualification Group A superb 64m throw by Kamalpreet Kaur qualify for the Finals in Group B, while Seema Punia bows out, finishing 6th in Group A.
Boxing
India’s big medal hope & top seed Amit Panghal eliminated in 2nd round (52kg); loses to Rio Olympic Silver medalist 1:4. Amit had received 1st round Bye.
Shooting
50m Rifle 3 Pos. Women’s Qualifications: Both Anjum Moudgil & Tejaswini Sawant fail to qualify for Final of 50m Rifle 3P event. In Qualification: Anjum finished 15th (1167 pts) while Tejaswini finished 33rd (1154 pts). Top 8 qualified for Final.
Sailing
Men’s Skiff – 49er Race 10-12:
K C Ganapathy & Varun A Thakkar finish 16, 9 and 14 in Race 10, 11 and 12, which places them 17th overall. Hold you heads up team, you’ve made us mighty proud.

Women’s Single Semi-final – PV Sindhu goes down to World No. 1 Tai Tzu Ying 18-21, 12-21 in Semis. It was Tai’s masterclass in the 2nd game.

Women’s Middle (69-75KG) Quarterfinal 4 – Pooja Rani goes down to former World Champion & reigning Olympic medalist Li Qian 0:5 (unanimous verdict) in Quarter-final. It was completely one sided bout.
Athletics
Men’s Long Jump: Murali Sreeshankar finished 25th overall (out of 31 athletes) in Qualification with best attempt of 7.69m.Top 8 qualify for Final. Murali’s personal best 8.26m would have placed him 2nd in Qualification.
Golf :
After 3 rounds: Anirban Lahiri is tied at 28th spot with a score of 6-under 207. Udayan Mane is tied at 55th spot with a total of 2-over 273.
