Women’s Pool A – India crash to their 3rd consecutive defeat as they go down to reigning Olympic Champions Great Britain 1-4. 2 matches left for India: against Ireland & South Africa.

Badminton
Women’s Singles Group Play Stage – Grp J: P.V Sindhu cruises into Pre-QF of Women’s Singles after topping her Group J (2 out of 2 wins). Sindhu got the better of Ngan Yi Cheung (WR 34) 21-9, 21-16 in her 2nd group match.

Archery
Men’s Individual 1/32 Eliminations:
Tarundeep Rai moves into 1/16 of Men’s Individual event with 6-4 win against Oleksii Hunbin (WR 66).

Tarundeep Rai crashes OUT in 2nd round of Men’s Individual event (1/16) to an archer ranked lower than him Itay Shanny (WR 92).Shoot-off decided the result. 

Men’s Individual 1/32 Eliminations
Men’s Individual 1/32 Eliminations: Pravin Jadhav moves into 1/16 of Men’s Individual event with 6-0 win against Bazarzhapov Galsan (ROC), After knocking out World No. 2, archer Pravin Jadhav goes down against World No. 1 Brady Ellison 0-6.

Women’s Individual 1/32 Eliminations
Deepika Kumari moves into 1/16 of Women’s Individual event with 6-0 win against Karma (Bhutan). Deepika Kumari marches through to the 1/8 Elimination Round recording a win against Jennifer Fernandez. In round 1/16.

Rowing:
Men’s Double Sculls Semifinal A/B 2 – Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh OUT of contention for a medal as they finish 6th in Semis of Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls event. This is the 1st time India has entered Semis in Rowing event.

Sailing

END of misery for Sai Praneeth as he goes down to Mark Caljouw (WR 29)14-21, 14-21 in 2nd Group match. Sai finished last (3rd) in the Group and his Tokyo 2020 campaign is over with both losses coming against shuttlers ranked lower than him.

Boxing
Women’s Middle (69-75kg) – Prel – R16:
Pooja Rani sails into QF (75kg) with comfortable 5:0 win over Algerian pugilist in 1st round. Pooja is now just one win away from an Olympics medal.
