Fencing: Women’s Sabre Individual Table of 64 – Bhavani Devi Created history by becoming 1st ever Indian Fencer to qualify for Olympics. She has won R1 match 15-3. 

Bhavani Devi goes down fighting to World No. 3 Manon Brunet 7-15 in 2nd round.
She already created history by becoming 1st ever Indian Fencer to qualify for Olympics & by winning 1st round match earlier.

Archery: Men’s Team 1/8 Eliminations  Indian team of Atanu Das, Pravin Jadhav & Tarundeep Rai beat Kazakhstan 6-2 in 1st round of Men’s Team event.

Archery: Men’s Team Quarter Final: Indian team of Atanu Das, Pravin Jadhav & Tarundeep Rai LOSE to South Korea 0-6 in Men’s Team event.

Shooting: Skeet Men’s Qualification Day 2 – Both Angad Bajwa & Mairaj Ahmad fail to qualify for Final of Skeet event.  Angad finished 18th (120 pts) while Mairaj finished 25th (117 pts). Total 30 shooters.  6 Qualified for Final. Last shooter to qualify scored 122.

Table Tennis: Men’s Singles Round 2  Sharath Kamal moves into 3rd round with 4-2 win over  Tiago Apolonia (WR 59). 

Next he will face Ma Long, the reigning Olympic & defending Champion, for a place in Pre-QF.

Tennis: Men’s Singles Second Round  Sumit Nagal goes down to World no. 2 Daniil Medvedev 2-6, 1-6 in 2nd round.

Table Tennis: Women’s Singles Round 2  Sutirtha Mukherjee goes down to higher ranked Fu Yu (WR 55) 0-4 in 2nd round.

Sailing: Men’s Laser Race 2 & 3 – Vishnu Saravanan

Badminton: Men’s Doubles Group Play Stage – Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/ Chirag Shetty go down to World No. 1 “Minions” 13-21, 12-21 in their 2nd Group match.  

Still they are in contention for a place in QF.

Sailing: Women’s Laser Radial Race 3 & 4 – Nethra Kumanan

Table Tennis: Women’s Singles Round 3 – Manika Batra goes down to World No. 17 Sofia Polcanova 0-4 in 3rd round clash. 

Only Sharath Kamal left in the fray now as far as Indian.

Boxing: Prelims – Round of 32 – Men’s 75 Kg – Ashish Kumar

Swimming: Men’s 200m Butterfly – Heat 2 – Sajan Prakash finished 24th (total 38 swimmers) clocking 1:57.22 in 200m Butterfly event. His PB timing of 1:56:38 would have taken him to 22nd spot. Top 16 qualify for Semis.
