1st Khelo India University Games 2020 Revealed Schedule And launch Logo, Jersey And Mascot, Starting 21st Feb 2020

On January 6, 2020 the Minister of State of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Mr. Kiren Rijiju revealed Logo, Schedule, Mascot and Jerseys of Khelo India University Games 2020.

The first edition of Khelo India University Games (KIUG-2020) will be held in Bhubaneswar, odisha from 21st February to 1st March, 2020. The Khelo India University Games are a part of the Khelo India program started by the Ministry of Sports to give the grassroots level talent a platform to showcase their skills.

The Launch ceremony was attended by Mr. Kiren Rijiju, Indian Sports Minister along with the Chief Minister of Odisha, Mr. Navin Patnaik and some ministers of Odisha Government, Also attended India's star athletes  Dutee Chand, Amiya Mallick (Sprinter), Manpreet Singh and Rashmita Minz (Hockey).

The KIUG-2020 Odisha, will have approximately 4,000 athletes from around 80-100 universities, apart from technical and supporting staff. The following 17 disciplines will be played in KlUG 2020. (Individual events - Archery, Athletics, Boxing, Fencing, Judo, Swimming, Weightlifting, Wrestling; Team Games - Badminton, Basketball, Football, Hockey, table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Rugby, Kabaddi).

The first edition is being organized by the Government of Odisha in association with the Sports Authority of India, Association of Indian Universities, National Sports Federation, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and participating universities.The participants for the Khelo India University Games have been selected from the zonal and inter-zonal tournaments which took place in the month of November 2019.
